Ramble - Northern Flinders - April
Written by Cameron Roy (Via Yahoo!Group)
Friday, 01 February 2008

I'm looking at doing a ramble in the northern Flinders on 100km+ of Heysen Trail.

Are you up for the challenge?

At this stage, I'm planning on 6.5 days' hiking between 15 and 20km per day, with an afternoon off on day 4. I am confident that this would be achievable by the vast majority of Rovers, so if you have concerns about your fitness or endurance, please contact me to discuss it, rather than assuming you would be unable to come.

I would arrange to have water distributed along the trail and possibly a food drop too.

Tentative dates would be April 17-24. Driving up on the 17th and walking a short distance to Mayo Hut. We would plan to finish on the evening of the 23rd, get a lift to our house near Blinman and stay the night there (shower, decent meal, etc.)

Those that are keen to get back for the ANZAC day parade and netball could leave on the 24th, while others could hang around for some 4wding and sight-seeing in the area, or for the rogaine nearby.

So, interested?
